When I told people I was moving to Georgia some would ask, “Isn’t that where they eat loads of yogurt and get very old?” I hadn’t been here so I didn’t know, but I answered that “Yes, I think so!”

Wikipedia provides some clarification:

YOGURT pronounced [joˈɰuɾt]) is a dairy product produced by bacterial fermentation of milk. Matsoni (მაწონი) is a Georgian yogurt popular in the Caucasus and in Russia. It is used in a wide variety of Georgian dishes and is believed to have contributed to the high life expectancy and longevity in the country.

This blogg is really not about yogurt. It is not necessarily about Georgia either, but this is where I live at the moment and thus my entries will of course be reflected by this exotic country.

But just like yogurt is a symbol of Georgia I will let yogurt be a symbol of this blogg: Sour and smooth. Some fresh fruits for a little sweetness. Some walnuts for a little crunch and roughness. A perfect balance. Yoghurt not only pleases our senses, it also has healing properties for our bodies, hearts and souls. I hope these yogurt tales will too!
